So far I’ve released three books of my own, contributed a foreword and a chapter to other books, and published thousands of articles, stories and reports both directly and on behalf of clients through commissions.

SEE INSIDE THE FUTURE
See Inside The Future is my first book for children, a collaboration with the brilliant Usborne team and two fantastic illustrators. It is an optimistic view of the future through six detailed, double-page scenes. Kids can lift the flaps to find out more information about all aspects of the future: life in space, the evolution of medicine and our own bodies, how we will live and travel.
Published 43 years after I first pulled the original Usborne Book of the Future from the shelves, this is the completion of the circle for me, and I hope it inspires children just like the original book inspired me.
Tom’s World: My column for BI Foresight
Tom’s world is my column for the online science, technology and futurism publication, BI Foresight. In it I share a quarterly take on some of the hottest technologies right now, and their path from laboratory to home or workplace.
In the first column, I examined my prediction that 2024 would be the year of the android - the humanoid robot - why I believed this would be the case, and whether history has so far proven me right.

USBORNE BOOK OF THE FUTURE
First published in 1979, this is the book that inspired me to be a futurist. In fact, my first futurist blog was named after it back in 2006. In 2023, Usborne reissued the book as part of the publisher’s 50th anniversary celebrations. And knowing my love for it, they kindly asked me to provide a foreword.

FUTURE-PROOF YOUR BUSINESS
Future-Proof Your Business is my attempt to capture the tools of my practice as an Applied Futurist in a single guide. This book features introductions to my foresight process, Intersections, and the frameworks I use to help organisations to structure for agility and accelerate decision-making.

HIGH FREQUENCY CHANGE
My first book, High Frequency Change, is my attempt to explain why so many of us feel like we’re being swept away by the pace of change. Clearly not everything is accelerating: much of the world around us has changed little in decades or even centuries. But we nonetheless feel destabilised. Why? And what can we do about it?
High Frequency Change was shortlisted in the 2020 Business Book of the Year awards.
COMMISSIONED WRITING
